Commander Kyriakos N. POCHANIS was born in Limassol in 1960.

He graduated from the Hellenic Naval Academy in 1983 as Ensign.

He graduated from the 'Under Water Demolition School', the 'Submarine School' and the Hellenic Naval War College with an excellent performance.

During his military carrier he served as Staff Officer onboard War ships, CO of F.P.B., Commander of F.P.B Squadron, and as Commander of EXOCET Coastal Batteries Command.

He also served as the Head of Operations Directorate of the Navy Command.

He was awarded with the Medal of Military Valour C' and B' Class, the Medal of Successful Command C'and B' Class and the Medal of Staff Officer Service B' Class.

Commander Kyriakos N. POCHANIS is married to Elena Zeipekis and he has two children, Pavlina 27 and Nicol 23.
